How are certain project management domains applied in different environments? Who are the 'domain masters'? What can we learn from how project management is applied by a Mt Everest expedition, by a restaurant manager, be an endurance runner? What learnings can we draw from their experience and the way they have approached certain PM methodologies and how can this enrich our individual approach to project management? What would project management 'heaven' look like? Broaden your mind, thoughts and ideas to include not just the contents of your own tool box but the approaches and ideas contained in the tool boxes of others!
About Michael Deichsel
Michael was born and raised in the south of Germany. He is holding a masters degree in economics as well as in Mathematics. He joined Hewlett Packard in Germany in 1995 spending the first 5 years in Germany and France working in finance and supply chain positions. Michael moved late 1999 to Melbourne, Australia supporting the creation of an Asia Pacific Spare Part Operation for HP. In 2002 Michael left this organization in order to assume new responsibilities in HP's Service Delivery organization. In this organization Michael was leading a team being responsible for process quality, process design and standarization as well as metric infrastructure. After workng for the Service Delivery team Michael joined the Global Solution Center in 2005 and was known for leading different global efficiency programs contributing significantly to the operational excellence of this organization . Since November 2009 Michael is the director of the Global Operations Support department for this organization.
