Sermin Tanyeri


Sermin Tanyeri, PMP, has over 20 years experience working in IT-focused roles involving leadership and management across diverse industries. She started her career as a university lecturer teaching IT courses, then moved to various IT roles in broadcasting, banking, education and telecommunications. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience in the project management of IT solutions and delivered numerous transformational and cost-reduction initiatives.

Ms. Tanyeri is currently working as a senior project manager in a global telecommunications company wherein she has gained extensive experience in managing major implementation projects. She has driven new business practices through different layers of the organisation and has been working with teams whose members are of different cultures and from different countries.

A PMI member since 2008 and an active volunteer with the Melbourne Chapter since early 2009, Ms Tanyeri is also a member of the Women in Project Management (WiPM) Specific Interest Group. She has been contributing to events organisation, including the PMOz 2009 Conference, and also coordinates the local website maintenance and enhancements. She has been recently appointed to the position of Director at Large responsible for the Chapter’s Communications Portfolio until the next AGM.

Ms. Tanyeri has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree (with a thesis on Management Information Systems) and a Bachelor Science (BSc) degree from the Department of Management at the Middle East Technical University in Turkey.
