Associations with other professional bodies

The Chapter has a number of associations with other professional bodies which allow you to enjoy additional benefits. For example, the Australian Computer Society sponsor a Special Interest Group (SIG) for technology Program Managers.  Chapter membership allows access to that SIG.


Chapter Meetings

The chapter runs free monthly events featuring local and international experts. They are designed for you to expand your horizons and learn more about key project management content. The events commence with a networking session over wine and quality catering. 

Conference & Symposiums 

Chapter members are eligible for member discounts on conferences and seminars organised by the Melbourne Chapter and some events run by other Australian chapters

Certification Preparation

The Chapter offers preparation courses and study groups that help you to succeed in your goal to achieve your next PMI certification. There’s no need to struggle alone when trying to pass the exam. When you work with a team of like-minded individuals, it’s much easier to achieve your goal together, especially the PMP.


The PMI Toastmasters Club provides a safe, supportive environment to develop your communication and leadership skills. In Toastmasters, you learn by doing to become a confident public speaker and strong leader, achieving your goals at your own pace. Subsidised membership is available for Chapter members. 

Leadership Program

The leadership program is an initiative to groom future leaders for successions to Board and/or PMI leadership roles. The program is designed based on world-class programs in leadership development. It involves coaching and workshops to support the participants as they scope, develop and implement selected projects. Each participant has a mentor as part of our mentoring program.

The Chapter offers member an opportunity to develop and formalise professional one-on-one relationships with other PMI professionals through the Chapter’s highly regarded Mentor Program.  

Mentees receive project management guidance and gain valuable project knowledge, increasing project management career opportunities and developing project management techniques, whereas Mentors contribute to the professional development of the mentees, by sharing industry knowledge and expertise, while earning PDUs through the process.

Volunteering with the Melbourne Chapter not only provides opportunities to expand your horizons, but earn PDUs in the process. As volunteers just like you run the Chapter, your desire to help will be met with a welcoming and open environment.

The PMI Melbourne Chapter has negotiated reciprocal membership with the other Australian PMI chapters, meaning that being a member of the Melbourne Chapter provides you with the benefits and services offered by all of the remaining PMI Chapters in Australia, i.e. the Adelaide, Canberra, Queensland, Sydney and Western Australia chapters.
